Who are the Prophets sent by God

Who are the Prophets sent by God, and what are their rule shown to his people?

These are the few prophets found primarily in the Old Testament, though the New Testament also references them and introduces new prophetic figures.

Isaiah

Prophesied the coming of the Messiah (Jesus Christ) and the restoration of Israel.

Jeremiah

Known as the "Weeping Prophet," he warned of Jerusalem's destruction and the Babylonian exile.

Ezekiel

Prophesied during the Babylonian exile, using vivid visions and symbolic acts.

Moses

Delivered God's law and led Israel out of Egypt.

Elijah

Performed miracles and confronted idolatry during King Ahab's reign.

Samuel

The last judge and first major prophet of Israel, who anointed Saul and David as kings.

John the Baptist

The forerunner of Jesus, preaching repentance and preparing the way for the Messiah.

Malachi

The final Old Testament prophet, addressing Israel's spiritual apathy and promising a forerunner (fulfilled in John the Baptist).

Zechariah

Offered visions of hope and the coming Messiah.

Noah

Known as Nuh and is considered the first messenger of God. His mission was to warn his people to stop worshipping idols and to worship only God. 

Nahum

Foretold the destruction of Nineveh as a judgment from God.

Jesus Christ

Jesus is also considered a priest and king. In Christianity, Jesus is seen as the threefold munera of priest, prophet, and king. 

Jesus is seen as a prophet who called people to turn from sin and return to God. He is said to have spoken the words of eternal life. 

Jesus is considered the ultimate teacher who revealed God's will and the meaning of the Old Testament.
